It’s all a matter of perspective β£
I was having fun exploring my island paradise over the last few days of 2022.
With no photographer on hand I had fun taking selfies.
This was an exercise in patience & creativity as I had to partner with nature to safely hold the camera in place while I held a pose. No selfie stick for supportπ€·ββοΈ
It got me thinking about soft skills that are often overlooked in professional pursuits.
β Finding the best angle to approach and solve a problem is a skill.
β Finding the best adapted prop is a skill (in my case two stones).
β Finding the right vantage point is a skill.
β Choosing the right light, avoiding harsh light and backlighting is a skill.
β Choosing the right time of day to take photos (& approach your boss, colleague or client) is a skill.
β Knowing who to ask for support is a skill.
β Being the best support to those who need your skillset is a skill.
β Seeing different perspectives in the mind’s eye is a skill.
We see what we set our π upon.
Some π have a laser sharp focus but miss the big picture.
Some π see the panoramic view but overlook the granular details.
Applying these skills to daily life allows us to perceive the π differentlyβΌοΈ It gives us ad-vantages!
As we wrap up 2022, our perception of the year gone by is coloured by what we choose to focus our π upon.
Likewise, as we set our π on 2023, let us be mindful of our perceptive powers.
